Cheadle Hulme High School are proud to be the Language Hub Lead School for the Etherow Language Hub
We are delighted to be working together with the National Consortium for Languages Education (NCLE) led by UCL Institute of Education as one of the first of 15 Language Hub Lead Schools in the country, maximising on the strength of language pedagogy, curriculum & leadership at Cheadle Hulme High School and Laurus Trust schools.
Our mission is to re-energise language learning in state-maintained primary and secondary schools in the local area and build a network of schools who can work together to make this happen!
Backed by £14.9 million funding from the Department of Education over the next 3 years, across our national language hub network we aim to increase the uptake of language study for students from all backgrounds, deliver expert training to language teachers and leaders, including upskilling language teachers through partnerships with Goethe-Institut, the British Council and beyond, and celebrate the rich multilingualism and cultural diversity of our school communities.
